HOW THE
ARTIFACT
BECAME
WEARABLE.
Signal Relic 001 began as a compact interactive object. The physical edition does not paste that object onto a shirt—it translates its orbit, memory, and circuit language into a new comic page someone can carry.

MAKE THE DIGITAL THING LIGHT ENOUGH TO ENTER.
The web specimen is intentionally small: 5,456 triangles, 16 nodes, no image textures, and no animation payload. Its geometry and flat color do the storytelling. The page loads a poster first and asks the visitor to activate the 3D viewer, so the object is an invitation instead of a tax on every phone.
The three orbits suggest transmission. The central form behaves like a remembered signal rather than a battery. Those ideas—not the file format—became the design brief for the garment.
Rotate the source object →FLATTEN DEPTH WITHOUT LOSING THE SIGNAL.
The left chest keeps only the smallest readable mark. The back opens the complete schematic: cyan orbits, a pink core, yellow shards, broken gutters, circuit traces, and halftone pressure. Black fabric becomes negative space instead of another printed rectangle.
The front master is 1500 × 1500 pixels and the back master is 3600 × 4800 pixels, both prepared at 300 DPI. Inside the provider editor, the final placements resolved at 308 DPI and 303 DPI with no automated design warnings.
A clean editor proof is not a physical proof. Placement, color, fit, and wash behavior remain sample-review decisions.
THE GARMENT SHOULD OPEN THE WORLD AGAIN.
The edition is not the end of the story. Its product record points back to the 3D dossier; the dossier opens this production note; this note leads to the provider-linked Shopify product. Each surface has one job, but every surface belongs to the same comic.
The first public version is deliberately honest: current price and material are shown, the sample review is still pending, and no “limited,” environmental, or performance claim is being made without proof.
